2009 Tahoe - Mystery Problems
Recently purchased a used 09 Tahoe with remaining factory warranty a week ago. Now noticing some things that's got me worried!
- push gas pedal to accelerate and there's hesitation for a second or two, then it goes
- when decelerating from 60 mph, there's a whining noise, it's present when decelerating from 45-60 mph
- when coasting on the highway tonight (no gas or break), then giving light gas, growling noise can be heard
dealer is aware of a rough idle but states "can't do anything about the rough idle unless it throws a code"

The hesitation is that way in all the new trucks.. its "torque management" in the computer meant to put less strain on the transmission. You can change it if you get a custom tune on your truck or buy tuning software like hptuners.
The growling noise when giving it light gas is probably the truck running on only 4 cylinders for the active fuel management. You should be able to push a button on the driver's information center that shows when its running on 8 or 4 cylinders to verify this.
Not sure on the whining noise. Is it in auto 4wd when its doing that?
