Question UPPER Plenum Intake Torque Setting

So i removed my upper intake off my 1996 suburban to replace cap, rotor, coil, and control module. I cant find the torque setting for the upper bolts. Dose anybody know what the torque setting is for the upper intake is and is it in foot pounds or inch pounds? Thanks for the help everybody Aaron W.

    Default upper intake torque

    My Haynes manual says 1996-2000, 4.3, 5.0, 5.7L is step1 @ 44 in. lbs. step2 @ 88 in. lbs. but for the 7.4L engine it's 1996 and 1997, 10 ft. lbs.

So i have the 7.4l and torqued it down to 120in lb or 10ft lb and the front left tab broke off of the upper intake. I did start by torquing everything to 44in lb then went to 120in lb walked away for 10 min came back and the tab was broke. This sucks $365 for a new upper intake.

    Default upper intake torque

So sorry for your misfortune, I double checked and triple checked and it says 10 ft.lbs. and I could'nt find any specified sequence for tightening so I imagine the standard criss-cross from center out would apply. Did you have a "new "gasket?

Ya new gasket and new bolts just in case the old ones were stressed but i doubt it with it only needing to be torqued to 10ft lb. I pulled the upper intake back off and checked the deck on the lower intake and its nice and flat. So im hoping that it was just a bad stroke of luck, and with the new upper this wont happen.
