trailer harness - need help
2008 Silverado - May have got a short with a utility trailer hookup - no lights, etc working on the trailer. Checked the vehicle connector (4-wire) and no power. Is there a fuse in the truck for the lights ?

Yeah, check your fuse box. On my '04 I think the fuse for the trailer wiring was on the side of the dash where you open the driver's door. If not there, then under the hood. I went through a couple fuses when I was rewiring my trailer and kept shorting it out...
And now that I think (harder) about it, on my friend's Avalanche he was having a problem with one of the pins on his 7-pin connection and one of the fuse "blocks" under the hood was misplaced. The owner's manual should give you an overview of which one is which for all the trailer pins.

Probably not the same problem, but I discovered after about 2 hrs of work that one of the pins inside the connector on the trailer hitch was bent so it was not making contact hence no power. This happened after I paid some one to install my hitch in a lower location, lesson learned...do it myslef!
