    Default 96 Yukon cats

i have one cat that is blocked on my 96 yukon what i was wondering was if i just cut them both off and put straight pipe instead would that screw anything up with the engine since the o2 sensor control the air fuel or are the o2 sensors in front of the cats control that?

You will have lights on for the position 2 O2 sensors as they monitor the cats, and if you get caught you will get a huge fine, magnaflow cats are pretty cheap on ebay, like 80 bucks a piece not to mention if you cut them off yourself you can sell the original cats for money as there are special recycling places that want then for the platinum inside of them, i have heard of getting up to 500 a piece during good economy

You can disable the light (ie remove the bulb) but if you require a state inspection and they see no Cats you WILL be failed and possibly fined.

I would not take off the cats for your health. It's really bad for you to breathe straight unfiltered exhaust. This is a good time to get a high-flow cat if you are going to do anything.
