I fired it up and drove it home (from the airport) -- after not seeing or working on it for a week. Talk about withdrawl...

    - - - Updated - - -

Surprisingly I got some mod time in, today. Back in October while finalizing the air tank port configuration for my OBA project I managed to round off a brass hex plug's head on one air tank. A few weeks ago I drilled that plug out, but still had work to do. Today I took a Dremel to what was left of it, ground it down to expose the tank's threads at that port, and then used a pick to pluck the remaining brass from between the threads. Once done I blew the brass dust and debris out of the tank and then threaded a draincock into the port.

I also ordered some 2" polyethylene sheet metal hole plugs for use with 14 to 26ga metal ... specifically for the holes intended to allow me to easily reach the air tank draincocks when the tanks are mounted in the air tank carrier I'm prototyping. I hope to finalize it, tomorrow, so that I can have it welded to spec this coming week. (I wish I knew how to weld and had the gear!)

Plasti dipped my front bumper, next will be the lower valence, door moldings, and rear bumper. So far I am happy with the product, although they don't mention the stuff sprays like crap at forty degrees out. Anyone who is going to use this stuff just make sure the can is room temp. I had brought mine outside for five to ten minutes while I finished taping and it sprayed really chunky and blotchy.

    Thanks Colin,

I have bern debating it for a while. By next summer my plan is to delete the Chrome and have everything be either black or red.

Sorry about pic size, didn't realize it would be so huge and I can't figure out how to get the files unattached

I removed my spare tire and receiver, today, so that I can easily cut the 7 spade connector's mount point off the towing assembly, tomorrow ... and then grind down the former welds and paint the newly-exposed metal.
