How easy is it to disable urea injection on 2011 Duramax?
1995 Silverado,Z71, 3-inch lift,2-inch leveling kit, SkyJacker Suspension, short ram-air intake, throttle body spacer, MSD ignition coil, straight pipes

You will not be able to disable it. The government mandates once you run out of it the truck will only go so far and under reduced power. As of now this is what I am hearing. Could change though.

For the same reason you would, its too much maintinance and it gets in the way of performance mods such as putn a straight pipe on that baby.

I beleave that program is going to be in ROM. May have to look into shorting the sensor to make it think its full all the time

What kind of performance are you looking for? These things come with 397 Hp and about 765 ft lbs of torque. Manufacturers are making it very difficult to alter pollution controls and it might cause you more problems then it's worth to try and remove it, plus you're going to possibly void your warranty and I know I wouldn't want to pay a repair bill on a Dmax. I agree with you, they are powerful. But i love the way a straight piped diesel sounds and i love sein them fill up the road behind them with a cloud of black smoke.

i disagree, while the black smoke is cool you are looking at motors that are more efficient and run better and quieter than any motor on the market. Yes they suck but i do know that there are plenty of manufactures out there who are working on ways to get more out of them with out touching the emmisions. As well as putting nice loud pipes on.
Ive worked on Diesels for years and dont have a clue what to do to the new ones. But when i jump into a 1995 K3500 with the 6.5L turbo and drop $10K in mods into it and then throw it up against a 2011 duramax and still get spanked its hard to argue... (this is hypothetical i run a gas engine because i couldnt find what i wanted with a diesel)
But you get my point.
