    Default GMs new Warranty

Just saw an ad for the new GM 5 year / 100K warranty. I guess it comes with free loaner vehicle and roadside assistance too.

It actually says "courtesy transportation" which I guess is a loaner vehicle. Anyone know?

    NEW VEHICLE LIMITED WARRANTY
GM vehicles registered in the U.S.A. are covered for 3 years/36,000 miles (whichever comes first). The complete vehicle is covered, including tires, towing to your nearest Chevrolet dealership and cosmetic corrosion resulting from defects. Repairs will be made to correct any vehicle defect, and most warranty repairs will be made at no charge. In addition, rust-through corrosion will be covered for 6 years/100,000 miles (whichever comes first) and powertrain will be covered for 5 years/100,000 miles (whichever comes first). See dealer for details.
    CORROSION PROTECTION
Chevrolet vehicles are designed and built to resist corrosion. All body and sheet metal components are warranted against rust-through corrosion for 6 years/100,000 miles (whichever comes first). Application of additional rust-inhibiting materials is not required under the corrosion coverage and none is recommended. See your Chevrolet dealer for terms of this limited warranty.
    ASSEMBLY
Chevrolet vehicles and their components are assembled or produced by different operating units of General Motors, its subsidiaries or suppliers to GM worldwide. We sometimes find it necessary to produce Chevrolet vehicles with different or differently sourced components than originally scheduled. Since some options may be unavailable when your vehicle is assembled, we suggest you verify that your vehicle includes the equipment you ordered and that, if there were changes, they are acceptable to you.
    ENGINES
Chevrolet products are equipped with engines produced by GM Powertrain or other suppliers to GM worldwide. The engines in Chevrolet products may also be used in other GM makes and models.
AN IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT ALTERATIONS AND WARRANTIES
Installations or alterations to the original equipment vehicle (or chassis) as distributed by General Motors are not covered by the General Motors New Vehicle Limited Warranty. The special body company, assembler, equipment installer or upfitter is solely responsible for warranties on the body or equipment and any alterations (or any effect of the alterations) to any of the parts, components, systems or assemblies installed by GM. General Motors is not responsible for the safety or quality of design features, materials or workmanship of any alterations by such suppliers.

in the old days a company would put up a big warranty knowing they wouldn't have any claims, thus giving the consumer the feeling they are purchasing a good product, they're not gonna have any problems with... now a days it means, the company makes a competitive product, or just as good as the leading companies, but we'll fix it for free!..... with their track record since 1997 with coolant related gasket failures, it shouldn't take too long to see how it'll work out.

    Default Purchased DaimlerChrysler Extended Warrenty

    Hey Guys,
I have had my 2004 Z71 for about 8 months now. Bought it at 33000.
I have 42,000 now and already the water pump went. Thanks to the 7/100 Added care plus contract it only cost $100. The repair job cost ~700 (Yikes).
The plan cost $1700 when I bought the truck, it is well worth it. I had a 96 Tahoe before this and I also had the extended warrenty on that one.

It's good to see GM step up again to the warranty plate. Company I work for had a huge contract with them (and had to move to Ford because of it)
Warranty is a big selling point for any car company nowadays.
    I'm still eye-balling an 07 Trailblazer SS...

New Hummers have a 4y/50K Bumper to Bumper. If you buy a certified used hummer it is 6y/100K. Not a bad deal. And I know what everyone is thinking Hummers are expensive...well thats true but an H3 is the same price as a Nicely Equipped Trailblazer... Just a thought
