Default Marshall James Pearson's approach to crime

I don't want this to turn political, more historical. I was reading a history of the mining town of Frisco, UT last night, and found Marshall Pearson's unusual approach to crime (and almost certainly unconstitutional, though this was before Utah was admitted as a state). Many old west mining towns were rough places, but I guess Frisco got to be pretty bad. Here's how one web-site describes Marshall Pearson's tactic:

Apparently some did not take him seriously, he supposedly killed six outlaws on his first night in town. He still had to convince a few, but most got the idea and left for easier pickings.

Wow! I sure Utah is a state now! That is some great history there. I bet back then with all of the outlaws, and claim jumpers he had to do something like that.

Ever wonder if he had the right idea? Stop giving 3 hots and a cot plus extras most of us can not afford. Makes you think dont it. Im sure there are issues with that, kind of like the witch trails like were they really what they say they were type of thing.
