    Is the difference between a 265 70 17 and a 285 70 17 about an inch tall and a inch wider??

    265/70/17 has a diameter of 31.6" and a width of 10.43"

    285/70/17 has a diameter of 32.7" and a width of 11.22"

    Sorry I didn't back to u sooner, after today I'm very impressed with these tires. If u remember me talking bout the road that had some muddy spots, well yesterday it rained a pretty good amount, so I went down that road today at lunch, I found out just how bad that road is when the rain soaks into the mud, as u can see from the pics, the mud was 5-6" deep depending on what side of the truck ur looking at

    I found black wall 265 70 17 DuraTracs on tirerack.com for $209 a tire but the white letters are $20 a tire cheaper. Might get them and turn the whites in. 80 bucks is 80 bucks!

    The difference between those 2 is the load rating. On the duratracs u have the option of either having the black wall in, white letters out or vise versa

    I have had 2 sets of Duratracs. never been in the mud with them but have been in 2 Feet of snow with them. They make driving in deep snow EASY!
