    Negative on the 305 close but no cigar! Keep Guessing and it's not a Ford.

    Definitely a V8, kind of obvious. I'm thinking AMC engine?? but size, I'm not sure.

    That is correct!! It is a AMC 304 V8. That is pretty impressive considering that the 304,360, and 401 Look identical (including the stock blue valve covers). However you must have done your homework and realized that they only offered the 304 in the '73 CJ-5. Good Work gentlemen!

    definitely has the look of a big block. I'd have to guess it's a 454, but it could be a 502.
