well the internals are back together. The ony thing left is the valve body to be put back together.

I just took it up to the shop for the seals, and I also had them replace some bushings also. Should be good to go in a few days as I have school and work.

working on the valve body I broke a sensor, so I have to wait for a new one. I am going to go to the trans shop tomorrow to see if they have one laying around. I am also going to see if they will check the valve body out to make sure it is back together correctly. Other then that all the clutches seem to function as per the air test, and the pump went in good and smooth. So hopefuly once the valvebody is done I can pop it in and test it on the road.

Oh and the paint was supposed to be black, but I did not realize that the black paint I used had gold flake in it, so it turned out to be a deep dark bronze, with gold flake color. Actually looks pretty good. It was a quick job so not the best, but I couldn't put it back in without something.

I think I mixed up some valve body springs.

Is there a way to tell which ones went where?

Also on the 3-2 downshift solenoid there is two springs on that valve. How exactly do they go in? Do they fit into each other? Also how much play should the valve behind the 3-2 downshift solenoid have?

So I did have some springs mixed up. It is back together and back into the truck. It drove good today once the pressure was up and the fluid was good. I am going to drive again tonight to give another thurough check. What kind of break in should be done with a rebuilt trans.

If you are mechanically inclined then, I would definetly try it.

I spent about 700, but that was for upgraded internals, clutches and metals.

Get the dvd and the book. Also if it shifts good only replace the sensors on the valve body as I think thats the hardest part of the rebuild. Its not hard as long as you do not mix up the springs like i did.

    TRY IT.

Thats the good one! Hey have you looked at this for rebuilding? :

    Monster in a box, 4l60E http://racetransmissions.com/store/i...th/203_204_211 .

$625 COMPLETE rebuild kit. Cheap enough to upgrade the torque converter too.
