    Default Introducing myself - WS4V

I'm a Chevy lover from way back. I'm 63 years old going on 30! I've had some nice rides in my time but sold the last one so I could buy a house. For most of my life I worked in the engineering end of television, being a supervising engineer for three stations when I retired. My last ride was a super nice 55 Chevy 210 with a 327, 340 Hp and 200-R4 trans. Currently I have a 1994 C1500, 5.7L, auto, that came with a custom paint job that I didn't care for so it is in the pain shop now to get rid of all the colors and ground effects.
My dream ride was a 1955, 210 Chevy, dr. sedan with a 327 at 340 hp but had to sell it to buy my house. I loved the car. It would cruise all day long at 135 mph with the Vintage Air on. The transmission was a 200-4R.
Selling it crushed me but I do love my new home. We all have to make trade offs in our lives and this was one of mine. Now the C1500 is my toy and I love it, although not as much as the 55! The C1500 will soon be out of the paint shop, where the ground effects and wild paint was replaced with a stock looking solid blue paint job. I'm hoping that I'll be able to get the HP up a little with TPI instead of the throttle body. It is an excellent ride, never in the rain and always stored inside. The frame has virtually no rust and it has never been wrecked or damaged in any way. with only 52k miles on it I'm hoping it will last me a long time.
I live about 40 lines east of Bristol VA/TN and, besides Chevies my other hobby is amateur radio (thus the user name WS4V shich is my ham radio call). I have been a "ham" for 31 years and enjoy the hobby a lot but not as much as crusing in a cool looking vehicle.
Anyway that's my story. I'm glad to find this forum for the C/K1500s and I hope it will be useful to me modifying the truck and I hope that I will be able to assist others since I have built and help build a lot of street rods and other interesting cars including a 40 Ford Coupe with 350/350, 36 Chevy standard coupe with an LT1, 35 Pontiac, a couple Model A Ford, both stock and street rods, A Dan Gurney Cyclone, a 68 SS Camaro, the 55 mentioned earlier, a 56 Chevy, and a 57 Sedan Delivery.
    Hello to everyone!
