    Default Rear Disk conversion

My late 07 Silverado new body style 4.8l 4x4 has rear drums how could I convert them to disks? As simple as getting rotors/disks/calipers and pads? Will the brake lines connect to the calipers?

The easiest way to do it would be to buy a whole rear axle assembly with disc brakes for a 1500 series truck from a junkyard and use that.

As for converting the one you have.. it might be possible, but its probably not going to just bolt on. You'd have to look at a silverado with disc brakes and see if the caliper mounting flange is bolted on, and if it is start measuring your axle to see if you could cut/drill/modify your drum brake mount on the axle and bolt the caliper mount on to it. The brake lines are most likely going to be different since they're steel lines on the axle, you might be able to bend or move them over to the calipers but I wouldn't count on it.
