    Default Generation 6 454 Engine

I was wondering if a Generation 6 454 Chevy engine is a good engine and for what trucks it would be best suited.

The generation 6 is a vortec 7.4l and has multi-port fuel injection. It had higher flow heads, a higher compresion ratio, roller valve lifters, and a different camshaft profile when compared to older 454's. It is a great motor with tons of power and is very reliable, just like all GM motors. It would be a great motor for a 3/4 ton or 1 ton truck used for hauling or pulling. It would also be a great motor for a hot-rod 2wheel drive truck.
