Being cached should not make a difference. All current smart phones and other handheld web devices should show the plain-text mobile version with the exception of the Motorola Droid which I have set as an exception.

I have a Samsung Epix which is an older smart phone, maybe a year or two, but I dont see pics and the layout is very confusing. I dont know if its just this phone or what but thats what I see.

Not sure what the question is/was. In the future, the mobile site will automatically choose for you. Then if you don't like it, each user will be able to choose the display type, which is actually a template change.

So, two users logs into the mobile site with an iPhone. Both will automatically have the main mobile template selected for them. After that point, either one will be able to select a different template. There will be at three options (planned). First the the stripped down "barebones" mobile version for smaller screens. Second is the medium-level content mobile version with some thumbnail photos added, etc. Third is the full display without any changes for smartphone, but it still knows that you're on a smartphone/iPhone/pocket pc/etc.
