    Default Third brake light LED?

Anybody have experience with these? Do they really provide enough light for looking in the bed at night? I tried doing a search for third brake lights but didn't seem to get any hits on peoples opinions of them.
Thanks for any info y'all might be able to provide.

I have one made by Putco.... I have never used the OEM light nor the LED one to look for anything in the bed....

The LED ones seem to direct the light straight out....maybe if you have a shell it would be benificial....but with an open bed not much better than the OEM.

My input is that nothing from the third brake light can light up the bed enough to be worth the time. Recon makes two 4' long LED ligths for $100 bucks. I'd go with that.
    Good luck.

I have a recon LED third brake light that my girl got for me and the brake light function is great but the bed lights leave a lot to be desired. Hope this helps

I have an IPCW mega third brake light which is as wide as the cab of the truck, and I have 32 LED's for the cargo light and it doesn't light up a damn thing inb the bed. I agree 100% with the bed lights from Recon, or Putco also makes an 8 piece set of lights for the bed that really light it up and you can put them anywhere under the bed rails.

Bottom line don't buy a third brake light in LED to light the bed, you will be seriously dissapointed.

Thanks, I knew they didn't really look like they would light the bed much. Under the rails with LED's sounds like the way to go.
I always have a flashlight in the truck but sometimes ya need two hands to load stuff.

i have the rencon blacked out led 3rd in my truck too, and as far as loading stuff in, i think it provides mroe than enough light, i'm sure some KC's would do better, but hey, not bad still lol.
