    The S-10 w/ the 4.3L has the same bellhousing as a 305 or a 350 since it is a 350 minus two cyl!

    The 2.8L has a 60 degree Vee and a different bellhousing same as the 4 cyl S-10...
    Still Loyal to GM after all these years...:shocked:

    But are the transmissions and tailshafts the same?

    AFAIK...different mainshaft/tailshaft houisng 4x2 VRS 4x4

    It is a 700r4 if its never been swapped they didn't start with the 4l60e until 1994 and a 305 would have been the base v8 option

    Cool, as long as the tailshaft is the same between an S-10 4x2 and a fullsize 4x2, it's all good. Down in my neck of the woods over 98% of vehicles are 4x2, we have no need for 4x4...
