Question 4.10 vs. 3.73 gearing miliage???

    Hi,
How will the fuel economy of a 5.3 silverado with 4.10 gearing compare with the fuel economy of one with 3.73 gearing?

    Thanks

Plan on at least 2mpg less.. I got 18 with a 2002 that had 3.73s.. and my buddy had upgraded his and got 16 on the highway. with the 4.10s... and the 3.73 is honestly the best balance you will find for towing and empty milage and performance since most people tow a trailer less than 5% of the miles of the vehicle..
IF you are planning on doing a lift with bigger tires that is the only time i would reccommend anything higher than a 3.73.
