    Default Transmission filter o-ring stuck

Was changing my transmission filter today and can't get the old o-ring out. I've already removed most of the rubber coating on the o-ring so re-using the old ring is now not an option. I was using a mehanics hook to pull the o-ring with no luck. Any ideas on how to remove this ring without scoring the aluminium housing?

Small flat head screwdriver and a hammer. work your way around, it bends easy..Then fish it out with needle nose pliers..
