Default ABS Problem, low speed engagement.

Argh! Another bugg.. My ABS was dissabled on the truck and I thought it was fubared.. Today when giving it a tune-up I notice the harness was unplugged.

Plugged it back in and got ABS! Too much ABS! Now when I'm nearing full stop the ABS engages no matter what surface I am on.

Obviously why the dealer had it disconnected... What could be causing this? Wheel speed sensor? (Please tell me they are not built into the hubs...)

    Bad abs module?

Is there a sensor on the brake pedle?

    Thanks!
    Eric

    Abs Module

The dealer is not supposed to disconect that, if you have a safety inspection you will not pass.

I think that model year was rear abs only(I can't remember, yours) but I have heard mechanics doing this but not a dealership. Some people did not like the way back brakes acted. Have you checked that rear wheel cylinders are not leaking and axl seals?

It's front and rear abs on my truck. no leaks anywhere. had brake fluid replaced.

If I need to change the module, I'm in for it... The lines going in the module are sure to be seized. That means all new brake lines. ARGH!

I had a similar problem with my s10 Jimmy, with taht truck it was a bad wheel speed sensor.

    Cheers!
