    Default steering box question??

The bolt on top of your steering gearbox with the allen wrench head and the jam nut.. I was told this is to adjust the slop inside.. True/False and why??My frontend is tight and I got alot of play in the steering wheel..Thanks

You're correct, thats what its for. The steering gears eventually wear and you can adjust that to take some slop out of the steering wheel. You don't want it too tight though, otherwise the steering wheel won't come back to center by itself and you'll have to pull it back every time you turn.

Adjust it 1/4-1/2 turn, no more. If the steering wheel gets hard and it's still wonky, your gear is probably shot.
