    Default Broken Speedometer

    Hey guys i'm new to the forum so sory if this has already been answered. I have a 2004 2500HD and my speedometer has gone out!! I herd from a friend that this is common and that it may be a recall any info?

    Try searching for "instrument cluster" or "stepper motor". Both have good info. There was a TSB and GM sued Delphi in bankruptcy court and received a settlement for faulty stepper motors. Your vehicle may not qualify depending on your mileage.

    There was a episode on truck you that showed how to fix the problem. the show should be on there website.

    I experienced the same issue. I found the following site helpful:

    PS. Went to the truckutv.com video and never saw them repair anything. Did the video work for anyone else?

    They had a recall on the dash cluster which they would fix it if it had under 90,000 miles on it i believe

    Unhappy Speedometer bad

    I have the same problem with my 2005 silverado. No the video for TruckU did not work for me either. I found out about the recall after I had 94 K. Needless to say Chevy said Sorry Charlie, no speedometer for you. This coupled with a few other problems, electrical in nature, has me wondering if I will continue to purchase GM products in the future. Always have been a GM type person but ........
