Buying a laptop from Dell

I'm not sure why, and maybe someone on here can explain it if they wanted. But Dell has their basic laptop Model 1501 for two different prices through their website.

Shopping for latops for home, and office:

Today the prices changed, and if you buy a laptop through the small business link you will save $50.00. Last night you would save $100.00
Looks like some options have changed as well, but if you're not worried about a 60gb hard drive vs 120gb, and just need to save every penny you can, then buy it through the business link.

I bought mine last night, and saved the $100.00, and they sent it free of shipping.

Just thought I would share that info with you all.

The US doesn't really have a VAT like they have in Europe.

Don't worry! They still get small businesses for taxes though.

It's all marketing. Dell is a master of it.

My advice on Dell is don't walk, RUN as fast as you can from Dell! I have had nothing but OS crashes every 2 months without fail, my tech guy thinks it's a hardware conflict, good luck guessing which part. I right now have a $2000 paper weight that is unreliable and I'm sick of pouring money into it.

I'm bought my last laptop from Costco. Fair priced and I can take it back anytime, for any reason within the first 6 months. Got a nice HP DV6000 and have been very happy with it. Bought it to replace a Dell that had the mysteriously 'hot' battery. Dell claims that our serial number didn't fall within the affected batch. Thank you Dell. How far have you escalated your issue, unplugged?

I own 3 Dell desktop computers (2 at home and 1 at work) and one notebook. I have had no issues with any of them and bought the first desktop PC about 6 years ago. I built my own PC for a gaming rig but I could not pass up the affordability of the Dells for both my kids and for work.

We actually have a Dell for my wife's computer. She's never had any problems with it, and she's had it a couple years now. I guess it's really no different than cars. Sometimes you get lemons.
