Air Dam removal
I've been thinking of removing the air dam on my truck and would like to know if it will hinder my mpg or the ability to get air to my engine?Anybody here notice a difference in either of these since you have removed your air dam?[/SIGPIC]2009 Chevy Silverado LT 1500 EXT CAB 4X4 Vortec 4.8L SFI,K&N air filter,Weathertech Floor Liners ,Weathertech Stone/Bug Deflector, Line X Spray On Bedliner, TruXport Rollup Tonneau Cover, Molded Mudguards, Viper 5701 LE 2 way Security Alarm/Remote Starter, Xm Satelite Radio,BILSTEIN 5100 rear shocks,BILSTEIN 5100 front levelling shocks,READYLIFT 2" rear lift blocks,Goodyear Wrangler Territorys -265/70R 17"

I'm not sure about the Silverado, but I have always removed the plastic under all my cars (lowered) and never noticed any issues. Hope that helps.

Pulled mine off the 09 Sierra and everything seems to be the same except I don't have to worry anymore that I'll scrape it off on something. It really wasn't tall enough to divert much air; probably just cosmetic on a big old flat-faced 4x4.The Cheap-*ss Modder & Thread Killer

all that thing serves for is to ripple the air and help cool the bottom side of the engine a little better as far as I can tell never really caused a problem for anyone removing it that i have heard. People have been asking this question for years on here and all of them wind up removing it and never have a problem after so i say go for it too.
