    Default rough engine

    i have 2005 colorado 5cyl. when i first start up and drive my truck it sounds like it is in a lower gear or a diseal engine. after i go a little distance it sounds normal.

    What does your oil pressure look like at start up?

    Have you changed the oil lately?

    It could be you put the wrong filter in, maybe.

    Some filters have anti-back flow in them and others don’t.

    done all of that. have no oil pressure gage. have used different filters does not matter.

    So it makes noise when you first start it, like a desiel motor, is that what you are saying?

    That is oil starved, get an aftermarket oil pressure guage and hook it into the sending unit. don't put it in the truck, just use it to see if you are getting oil pressure right away.

    Then we tell you better what the problem is, and you can tell if it has a problem with oil pressure, I don't like idiot lights, they don't tell you anything until it's to late.
