    Default Rotting cab rockers

I have a 97 Silverado Z71 extended cab. Does anyone know why lower rear of cab rusts and eventually rots? Is it from leaks somewhere above? I know there must be a lot of other members who have experienced this and i would like to know the solution.

Welcome to the GM TruckClub! I had a '96 like yours, but never had any rust problems and have not heard of the problem. Good luck!

What part of the country are you in? Not seeing rust out here is SoCal.

    Where do you live?
Regional weather conditions and road chemical have a lot to do with these type conditions.
I've never seen corrosion in these areas on trucks this new in the south/southwest and west.

The rust on cab corners is without a doubt a geographical condition. My 88 burban is solid underneath and on rocker sills. no rot.
