Thread: Shovel Mountd

  1. #1

    Default Shovel Mountd

Today I mounted my shovel to the Thule MOAB/ Play Pen Basket.

I used a Thick PVC pipe and cut it in half. Painted the clamps and PVC. Hose clamped the two ends of the pipes to the basket. Drilled a small hole through the shovel and pipe to run a small bolt through each to keep the shovel in place and detour any unwanted people.

I was looking for that unique look and not end up buying the shovel mounts which can be spendy. I used a full size shovel with a broken handle. I shortened the handle and re mounted it.

Looks nice to me... I take it you live somewhere where a shovel like that will come in handy?? Up here its just really sticky mudd or gravel so a shovel usually doesnt do much.

Thank you. I dont know really how much i would use it however I usually have a small ax and a small shovel in the truck anyway... I ad an extra shovel around the house and camp alot with the family out of the truck and I was thinking that tools will always be usefull.
