Stock "P" rims safe with "LT" tire pressure?
Upgrading from P to LT tires on my 2007 Suburban. I tow a camper and want the added side wall stability. I have the stock 17" aluminum rims. Can those rims handle the pressure from LT tires?
Current P tire max pressure is low 40's. New LT tires will be 60's (?).
Is it safe?

Yeah, its fine. I put LT's on 1500's all the time. It they couldn't handle the extra psi then they wouldn't be approved by DOT.
