Default Please Help, I am Stumped

I just got a 1991 2WD 4.7L Silverado from my Dad. The truck sat parked at his office for the last 5 - 6 years. It is in fairly good condition considering the age and the fact that it has been parked for the last 6 years. I have already done a lot of maint. work on it and have it running. I have done the following.

    Oil change
    New air filter
    New fuel filter
    Flush and fill the radiator
    New thermostat
    New cap & rotor
    New plugs & wires

The problem is that the SES Light came on. I searched the Internet for the Answer and was eventually led here. I have searched here and found some posts that touched on my issue but nothing that answered it.

The code i got from jumping the plug under the dash is 42.
Haynes said - Ignition Control Circuit
Searching more i was lead to check the Ignition Control Module in the Dist.
I replaced this with a new one and still have the code 42 after reseting the ECU.
I have checked the wiring and do not see ant burnt, cut, frayed or anything else wrong with them.

I am now hoping that i can get some direction or hopefully past experience help from here.

I have read a lot of great post on here and feel like someone may know what to look into next.

    THANK YOU in advance

Try disconnecting the battery and letting it sit for a while, probably like an hour or two. But as far as the pics of the truck, it looks like you've done a great job fixing the beat up girl up. And I think you meant 5.7, b/c I've never heard of a 4.7 in a Chevy.

After sitting for 6 years you may want to drop the gas tank and flush out the fuel lines.

Mean Green 95 - You are correct i guess i fat fingered that one. It is the 5.7 not the mythical 4.7, Thanks for the comments on photos. I will add more as i fix her up. She wont be a show stopper but she will be nice and reliable.

mmorgan1865 & Trapperdon - I did drain the tank and clear the lines when i put the new fuel filter on.

Thank all of yall for the quick responses.

Great looking rig to be honest.. sand down the roof, and primer it before she rusts much more... IT looks a ton better than my rig. Rust wise.. I have a bunch of stuff that i have done to mine that you might be interested in as interior mods, and redoing the headliner etc if you are interested I would be glad to give you a few pointers.
As for the code try resetting as mentioned above...

Thanks to everyone that offered me help with this issue. As it turns out i have now corrected it, the problem was the 4 wire plug that went to the Ign Control Mod, While this truck was parked for 6 years a family of rats or mice moved in under the hood and it seems that they like to chew on wires. Anyway, I finally found a wire that was chewed in two, Cut it and soldered a new piece of wire in and she is puring like a kitten now.

Now i can move on to getting her to look good again.

Thanks again to everyone that offered help.
