    Default custom tune

    ok to this thursday im going get a custom tune on my truck by a guy that i know.. he's service manager at the local chevy dealer and does this on the side at his house.. he usually works on corvette's and sports cars but also does other cars... what kind of performance should i be expecting from this?

    say he's really good with it which im pretty sure he is from the other cars ive seen that he does.. what should i be looking at gaining?

    a good tune with no other mods can usually gain you 10-15hp. Where tuning really comes into play is when you have made engine mods and need to dial in your ECM for the mods you've made, thereby making most benefit of your engine improvements. Factory tunes are conservative though, so there is some power that can be made from just a tune, though not a lot in the grand scheme.

    Like already stated, depends on the tuner, as well as dyno and software experience. You should see a difference no matter what though .
