    Default 2000 Suburban engine stumbles

    Hey all,

I have a 2000 Suburban and it is not running right. It has 130k miles 5.3L 2WD LT loaded. I live in Texas and when it's hot and the truck is parked and running all is well. Then when I go to pull out, the engine stumbles and barely runs well enough to roll forward. Then if I shut it down for a minute and start it it will normally run ok again.

    Any ideas? Maybe vapor lock?

try a sweep test on the TPS as well since that can cause your motor to run alright at idle and when you open the throttle to move it might not be sensing right with the heat from sitting.. Just a thought as well..

Do you need a Tech II for that or could I do it with an off the shelf hand held diag tool? I can get a pegasus hand held (cant tremember the model) it does a fair amount of logging but not sure about a sweep of the Throttle Pos. Sensor. If that were the issue, what would I expect to see from the TPS?
