    Default shorty vs long tube headers

    other than the length whats the differance in the two? is one better than other?

    LTs flow much better, the shortys are not too far off from stock.

    Shorty's are usually easier to install and some are emissions legal. Long tubes are almost never emissions legal because they move or eliminate catalytic converters, and make sure no small children are around when you install them unless you want them to learn some new choice words.

    One of the biggest differences between shortys and long tube headers is cost. I bought the dynatech long tube headers with the y-pipe and hi-flow catalytic converters for 1,500. I could have picked up any number of shortys for less thant 400. It was worth the cost to me cuz the truck sounds great and the install wasn't awful.
