okay...i did this a couple years ago, and it was my first time...

i went to Fry's Electronic's, and one of the pc guru's walked me through the whole process...i think i remember mostly, but you should call a pc repair place to double check.

you'll need a case, some you can buy that have your power supply included.
you'll need a motherboard, some you can buy that have video cards included.
you'll need memory...4 gigs is a good start, that's what i got for mine.
you'll need a hard drive...1 gig is a good start
    probably want a CD Drive...
i'm thinking that's about all the hardware...what about software?? do you have Microsoft Office?? it comes in handy.

good luck man, it was the best thing i've done...i love my pc now, you don't get all that bundled **** that comes with the name brand crap.

link to the rig i built really easy just have to take your time

    http://www.gmtruckclub.com/forum/sho...ist-comp-build

    operating system
    mouse
    monitor
    hard drive
    ram
    processor
    power supply
    graphics card
    mother board
    case and cooling fans

you may not need everything but if you shop at newegg.com you can get some great deals i build mine for less than 1200 bucks, i guess it all depends on what you want your comp to do, if it for gaming spend a little more and get some better hardware. biggest thing is to make sure the mother board and processor are compatible as well as the mother board and case.
