    Default Changing Headlight Bulbs

OK folks, maybe someone here can give me sanity check. Either I'm a complete idiot , or someone needs to shoot the person who designed the engine compartment layout on the 2010 Silverados (maybe all the models with the same body style).

Following the instructions in the owner's manual, you either have to have extremely skinny arms or you have to be a contortionist to change out the bulbs on the passenger side. Does anybody have an easier way to changes those bulbs than to remove the air cleaner cover?

    thanks in advance

OK, I think I've found a way to make the passenger side headlight bulbs a little more accessible. Instead of removing JUST the air cleaner cover, it seems you need to remove the entire air cleaner box.

Be glad you don't have the newer Avalanche. By the book you should take off the whole bumper and grill. But it can be done by just taking out some bolts
and lowering it.. Still takes about 45-60 mins.. My old Av it took 10 mins... GM WHAT ARE YOU THINKING????? Oh ya they make money off of labor from US..

It was just a big change from my '02. Unlatch 2 L shaped pens, pull them out pull the headlight assembly out and ta-da, the bulbs are right there, no tools required. Of course, to be fair, the salesman told me when I bought this one that the newer vehicles were not shade tree mechanic friendly. I just didn't realize that applied to something as simple as a lightbulb change.

I was glad to see the pins on my '05; my '93 Jimmy required removing {8} torx screws and removing the entire grill. Fortunately they were the same size as the rear view mirror so the torx-driver I bought for that helped...
