Default 2" lift + add-a-leaf will it work?

Just like the title says. Will a 2" lift block and an add-a-leaf work in conjunction together? I pulled a brush chipper over a hundred miles today today to Vermeer in Raleigh today. The truck pulled it fine but I was sagging really bad. The tongue on my pintle hitch was about 10 inches from the road and when it was bouncing I have no clue how close it was to the road.

I would install overload springs instead of a add-a-leaf and block. The overload springs will only work when the truck is loaded so the rear wont be sitting high when not loaded.
