2007 Ball Joints
I had to get my 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 inspected last month and was told that my ball joints were getting sloppy. I took it to my dealer and sure enough 3 of the 4 ball joints are being recommended to be replaced. I only have 50,000 miles on the truck and 90% of it is highway miles. I haven't done any towing, heavy loads, or plowing and yet there wearing out fast. So much for "Professional Grade", it is more like same usual garbage as always.
Has anyone else had this problem?

That seems strange to me. I have 296,000km (about 122,000 miles) on my 2001, and haven't had to replace any ball joints on it. The shop at my school recommended I replace them when they installed my new control arm, but I just had it in to the dealer to inspect the front end and diagnose a vibration, and they didn't say anything about them, so by their inspection standards, they should still be good. The only thing you have according to your signature that would make me think they would wear out more quickly is the mud tires, but mine has had oversized tires since it was about 3 years old as well, so yours shouldn't wear out so quickly.
My suggestion is that if you still have any warranty on your truck, try to get them done under warranty because they shouldn't need replacement that soon.

Just curious, do the worn out ball joints have grease fittings or are they sealed?
My 03 has the grease fittings on them.

They are sealed (without fittings) and it is out of warranty by about 14,000 miles. Mud tires are original size and were put on after I found out about the ball joints.
