Default brake pedal sag causing brake lights to turn on

Newbie here - 89 Silverado, brake pedal sags a bit causing the brake lights to come on.
Intermittent problem. Can I tighten something up? or what?

Welcome to the club. Isn't there a spring return on the brake pedal? If there is try a new spring.

The brake light switch should be threaded so you can screw it farther into the bracket and the brake pedal will make contact with it earlier. If you get under the dash and follow the metal arm holding the brake pedal up you should see metal arm pushing against the brake light switch.

Yea the brake light switch on the brake pedal should be adjustable, back it off the arm, I think the factory pedal to switch clearance is something like a 16th".
