    Howdy All!

I have a new (to me) 2004 Suburban with about 86K miles on it.

The dealer I bought it from did some "spring cleaning" on it, and from what I've been reading, it looks like I have a fairly common Knock sensor error now

P0332 - Rear Knock Sensor, Voltage Low

    Joy

They were a Mercedes dealership, and they're *really* not interested in being helpful.

    Alas

My warranty has a 30 day, 1000 Mile elimination, with a $200 max per incident deductible... well let's see here.

12601822 - GM Knock Sensor Harness and Grommets ($39.95)
12589867 - LS Gen III Knock Sensor ($42.64 each)

OK.. so I've got my parts list.
This list told me where they were, the sticky links at the top for the exploded parts list showed me where to find them, and then http://www.magnusonproducts.com/pdf/...00-2003-06.pdf provided all the step-by-step, well illustrated example I'd need for pulling the intake manifold

    So... my questions:

    1) I plan on owning this for a while: For $30 would you get this?
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.42825 anyone with any experience with the ELM327 readers positive or negative?

    2) I'd be pulling the intake... I read a mixed bag on whether it's worth putting a new gasket in at the same time:

    89017589 - $70.46

I'm leaning toward doing it, as it's a case of "well it's open anyway"

    3) The instructions look pretty straightforward, I have most of the tools already (I just ordered better fuel line tools than the crappy ones I used to have)... anyone think of any other "gotchas"?

    4) The TSP that says "build an rtv dam" only applies up to 2002 -- RTV them in there or no for the '04?

    Thanks in advance!

Well, it looks like, as predicted, the Check Engine light went out at about 500 miles -- yay for drying out (105 degree temps didn't hurt either).
