    Default Smell antifreeze at starup through a/c vents

    I have a quick question, i smell antifreeze through my a/c vents at startup and then it goes away after a few minuets. I don't smell it after startup so im very confused does anyone know what it is?

    I think its the heater core going out or a hose conection on it !!! i would get it fixed before it leaks in to the floor on the pasanger side !!

    i'll take a look at it tonight, i am going on vacation on friday down to north carolina from ohio its about 700 miles i hope i can get it fixed and i don't get any leakage on the way. thanks

    Ahh once fixed you shouldnt have a problem.. Let us know how it goes since the heater core can be kinda a SOB...

    just a quick thought, can you bypass your heater core until you get back from NC? I would think 2 hose clamps and a barbed coupling would connect the two hoses just fine. then once you get back from NC you could replace the core
