Default 04 silverado climate control problem

i have dual climate control with the sliders to control heat/cool. they have lights behind them and the drivers side light went out, and so did the control for the driver side climate. I now have cold air blowing no matter what i slide it to. the passenger side is working perfectly.

do each side have their own fuse?
could it just be a loose wire?
would i have to disassemble the entire dash to get to it?

please help... im scared ill have to pay someone to fix this stupid little thing.

btw. i think its an electrical problem not a mechanical problem because of the light being off. every other light to do with the climate control works. i can post a picture if you need it.

Sounds like you may have a shorted climate control module... I hope someone else will chime in but from what you are describing is a unit that went bad.

is there 2 seperate climate control modules? because like i said the other side works perfectly.

and if so, do they have seperate fuses? im used to driving much older trucks. the last one i had was a 91 and before that a 78. this stuff boggles me. i can replace most anything with no problems, but this little thing is giving me a headache.

NO i was talking about the actual climate control on the dash.... The unit itself may have a short on the drivers side...

hahah thats what i was thinking. like a loose wire behind the panel. just looking for any other ideas before i take the dash apart.

this is what im workin with. passenger side of the red/blue lights up and works. drivers side does not light up or work.

Yeah id lean the same way... Id check the wires but id think there may be a problem with it which sucks since its a newer truck you would think it would last longer. And is that an actual SS or just done up to look like one?

IT should be as simple as taking the guage/radio surround off and then some (most likely 7mm bolts) bolts out and it should slide out enough for you to be able to look at the wiring etc.

Junk yard, or Ebay... When a dealer part is to costly those are my two best friends.
