Taillights don't light up?
I have a 2005 Crew Cab, and my taillights will be on for the running light, but whenever I apply the brakes, only the cab light lights up and the taillights stay dim. Did I blow a fuse, or what?

Taillights
Those bulbs in the rear of your truck have 2 filaments in them. Sometimes 1 of them will burn out and the bulb will still work for parking lights, but the brake light filament will not. Check the bulb closely to see if that may be your problem. It's an easy cheap thing to do first. However you should also check the fuse. Hope this helps.

I just replaced the lights about 2 months ago and I checked the bulbs when I was blacking out my taillights about a month ago. I checked the bulbs earlier and nothing is wrong with the bulbs, so I'm guessing it's a fuse?

Always start simple, check bulbs and fuses. I found that the retaining clip for my switch was missing, got a pack of them from Dorman, all better.

Oops, I forgot to reply back on here. The prongs on both of my bulbs were burnt. I fixed it now. Thanks for all the help, guys!

I like it when it's something simple like that and doesn't cost much if any money, good job guys! i was thinking along the same lines if the 3rd brakelight on the cab was working right and just the tail lights wasn't it had to be either a bulb, (bulbs) or that circuit board in the tail lights that the bulbs plug into gone bad. had to replace one of them before too.

Yeah, it was a simple fix. I had extra bulbs laying around, too.
