    Default Compression readings....

    Greetings All, is a reading of 160 too high for a 89 350 with 110,000 miles on it........

    1989 Chevy V1500 Suburban 4X4, long tube headers & xover pipe. w/1985 350 4bbl.
    2002 Silverado 1500 5.3L Ext. Cab
    2005 Wrangler Rubicon 4.0L
    1990 Miata

    NO that isnt to bad... what you are really looking for is a nice even compression across all 8 cylinders..

    Well, i belatedly pulled the car fax on my truck and it looks like it might have 200k+ on the engine. Could be why i cannot fix the pinging...........

    Possibly but i would run a full compression check on all 8cyl. and then you will have a better picture of the health of your motor.
