IT Manager for a Manufacturing company, actually 3 Manufacturing companies, and 1 Auto Repair/Auto Body shop. The 3 manufacturing companies, make stuff here in the USA (actually in PA), and 2 of these companies export our products to China. I am proud to say "Made In America."

Because we are manufacturing, our IT base is small, of our main sites 130 employees, we have roughly 85 computers. Pretty funny everywhere in our plant we have computers, fork trucks, machines, maintenance, etc. The system we run for our Materials Handling software, was in-house designed by my wife. She's been with us for 6 years, I've been with them for 11 going on 12 now. It's a great, profitable company, that treats the employees very well. In turn we try to keep us pretty cutting edge so we can outsell our competition (which is slowly dying off).

I've been doing IT stuff for 27 years on the side, and am an Electrical Engineer by degree, and MCSE by certification. My first gig out of school was for a telecom company, worked there 5 years doing engineering, switched to telecom/datacom before I left, then became an IT Manager, which in our case is more a Network Admin, with extra responsibilities thrown in.
