Default 1996 GMC Transfer Case Vacuum Hose

1996 GMC Transfer Case Vacuum Hose. I have a 1996 GMC 4X4 Suburban. There is a hose coming off the transfer case at the other end someone has blocked off the hose with a bolt screwed in to the hose. Where is that hose needed to be connected and for what reason.
    Thanks PKBell

that is the breather and it most likely got broken off at some point and was blocked to keep from getting garbage in it.
