Default right turn signal comes on with brakes?

hey guys i recently had to change my steering column out because it shorted out. i finished it today and i noticed that the right turn signal comes on when i hit the brakes. i cant figure out what is causing it. both turn signals still work, just the right signal comes on steady with the brakes. anybody have any ideas? any help is greatly appreciated.

Year make model would help a lot. but it sounds like you have a short in the blinker assembly, which you have to remove the steering wheel etc to get to.
