    Default 1993 Suburban 1500 4x4 5.7L

I am fixing it after it has been sitting for 3 years. My aunt and uncle gave this to me for my 19th birthday and all I have to do is get the parts to fix it. It has a rebuilt transmission with 207000 miles on the original engine. I know for sure it needs new tires at least one now and the others later fuel pump and filter with a new battery. Is there anything else mechanically I should look at since it has been sitting for 3 years. I was going to check fuel and brake lines while I was under the truck.

I would start by changing all the fluids, radiator, engine, transmission, transfer case if a 4x4 (you didn't tell us what type of truck or year) axles, grease all the fittings, change the brake fluid. Check the spark plugs, cap and rotor, airfilter.

Also, check the front suspension and steering components. Grease everything up good and replace what needs replacing.

I honestly think seafoaming is a waste all it does is smoke I would rather use a nice fuel additive and use my heavy right foot to clean the carbon

I was going to drive to my house after it gets running and have a shop near me do that since I am not that mechanically inclined. I won't touch my brakes or steering on any car I own since they are pretty important
