Talking Hello from good ol' Europe

    Hi guys,

my name is Peter and I live in Linz, which is the third biggest town in Austria.

I'm 28 years old and a huge fan of american cars since I was a little kid.

My first V8 powered car was a `80 Chevy Caprice Station
    pretty sweet ride.

Last year I drove through Linz and saw a small car dealer hidden in some backyard. I stopped as I saw that out of the three cars he had for sale, two were Chevy Silverados and one was a GMC Suburban.
After I found out that the Suburban had the 454ci engine, I immediately knew I had to buy this car.
This was a friday late afternoon, so all banks are closed and everybody was ready for the weekend.
First thing on monday morning was a trip to my bank to get the cash to buy the burban.

Well since then I'm riding my truck day and night and became best friends with all gas station owners around town.
We pay 1,2 Euros per liter these days, so you can imagine why

But I love the truck and don't want to have any other car.

Since I bought it I had to do some minor (and major) repairs and unfortunately I don't have the knowledge yet to do everything on my own. But I am willing to learn and hope to find some answer and information here in this forum.

    regards from Austria

Howdy, peter! Welcome to the site. I enjoyed the story and I'm very glad that you are enjoying your new truck. Austria is a great place, I have a great friend from there and she always loves going back to visit her dad and grandparents. I hope you have a great time here at GMTC and get plenty of great information.

Welcome aboard. That burb sounds sweet. Good luck with it, and post some pics if you can. You write good English. Did you spend any time in the US?
