    Default Time for fluid change

K well I recently bought my 08 silverado and it has 70000 km on it and probably no fuid change on it. I read in my manual that the front diff has synthetic and the rear diff has regular 80w90, why? Also I see that the transfer case uses atf type VI. Can someone tell me how much diff and trans. oil I need so I don't buy too much and what should I use. Also what is the deal with what I read that the rear diff seal is reusable. Never heard of that before. THNX

I run Mobil 1 synthetics fluids in my engine, transmission and F&R axles. I use Autotracll in the transfer case, but if your manual calls for atf type VI than use that. If you have a 1/2 ton truck than the front diff. takes 1-2qts. and the rear 2-3qts. If you have the DEEP transmission pan than you need 6-7qts with filter change. If you don't know what trans pan you have just crawl under your truck with a tape measure and a DEEP pan is about 3" deep.
