Default GMC Full Size Van Man

Hey, I have great knowledge working on and in cars, trucks, and vans along with all the toys that you equip your Baby's with. However, I have run across the same problem that both my 87 Chevy and my 92 GMC vans have displayed. Rear End Trouble. The one area of a vehicle that I have only replaced, not repaired. I have a vibration in the rear of the van. I have new tires and was about to replace the u-joint when I noticed lubrication coming from the rear end and the u-joint didnt have a problem (for now). Is this ploblem common in Chevy/GMC vans? Is this easily corrected.

Rear axles and gears arent a chronic problem in GM trucks but given enough time and mileage any vehicle will develop problems.
Vibration could be a sign of a gearset getting ready to go or it could be bearings, you really need to tear it down to find the issue.
Leaking lube is probably more from gasket break down, sometimes small lube leaks arent noticed until you have another problem that draws your attention.

I second that. I am assuming you have a reputable tire as well. Maybe some vibrations are from having poor qaulity tires on both vans (unlikely). On a lighter note, My brother and I just recently rebuilt a one ton axle. Not as bad as i imagined it. take your time with it, and use the internet as your friend. Good luck to ya.
