    new to site just ordered a 2011 silverado.....I live in poughkeepsie new york and I work for the national park service.....this is my 5 th chevy truck in the last 12 years I hope it will be as good as those that came before it

    Welcome...I think it takes anywhere from 15 to 18 months....kidding, I've never been fortunate enough to order one, so I really don't know. Congrats on your new ride and on a serious note, I hope you get it soon!

    Welcome aboard from Long Island. Good luck with the new truck. I'm sure you'll love it. When I bought mine last year, they said it was a 3 month process to special order, but I believe that's their standard response. My father-in-law ordered a CTS V from Caddilac early this year and it took a little longer than expected (about 4 months). Due partly because of manufacturing timing (they don't make a lot of Vs) and partly because the dealerships don't get to select which cars are delivered by the truckers coming in from the NJ port, it's a union thing. Regardless, it was worth the wait, and I'm sure you'll feel the same once you get behind the wheel.

    How did you order it, what trim level and options?

    1500wt 4.8 ls package trailer package bedliner and heavy suspension and upgraded to cd player and cloth seats and I bought a second set of steel wheels with snows.found them on craigs list picking them up in ronkonkomo on saturday....I plan on nov to march with snow tires and the rest of the year with reg tires ......dealer did'nt know how long it would take to get but a friend of mine had ordered one the last week in august and it came in last thursday.......
